About the Author
Andrea Renee Taylor was born and reared in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the Cleveland Public
School System where she excelled as a student. Some years after having received her High School Diploma, she decided to attend Cleveland State University, earning enough credits to have conferred upon her The Degree Of Arts and Sciences in the field of
Psychology and a license in
Social Work. Earning her degree was difficult in that Andrea had to be continually hospitalized for severe Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome as a result of having been sexually abused for eight to nine years of her childhood. However, her passionate desire to receive her Bachelor's degree in the field of her choice was the motivating factor that kept her fiercely determined enough to complete her studies. Her desire to continue her studies to receive her Doctorate had to be put on hold as Andrea's mental health worsened. Instead, it was necessary for her to devote the bulk of her time and energy to traveling the road to recovery from the traumatic events that she experienced as a child, and that now seemed so overwhelming in every aspect of her life. She has been on the road to recovery for sixteen years now, with subsequent diagnoses being Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Bereavement due to the suicide of her only child--whom she believes was Bipolar, also. Her deep passion now is mental wellness. In addition to writing her first book, she has become a self-taught artist who attempts to capture feelings, emotions, thoughts, and concepts of certain mental illnesses on canvas. She has been asked to speak to different groups on subjects such as childhood sexual abuse, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder and other topics of mental illness. She now resides in Edgewater, Florida.
