- The Official Alien Abductee's Handbook
- Joe Tripician has obviously never (and admits as much) been abducted by aliens, or he could never have written such a screamingly funny book about what would obviously be traumatizing events. The book might bring up bad remembrances for those who have been abducted by aliens, but since so many abductees seem to have repeat experiences, Tripician's handbook will put them in good stead for the next time.
- Frog Girl
- This original tale, based on Pacific Northwest myth, in which frogs are being abducted from a local lake, "will be welcomed by fans of folklore and Native American literature," wrote PW. Ages 5-7. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information, Inc.
- Burned
- Australian Yvonne Bornstein—who was abducted along with her husband by Chechen terrorists in Russia in 1992 and wrote a memoir of her experience, Eleven Days of Hell—serves as the model for Patti Monroe, the heroine of this run-of-the-mill thriller from Hagberg (Allah's Scorpion), who's updated the story to the post-9/11 world.
- White Heart, Lakota Spirit
- A band of young Sioux killed her family and abducted her. Now Grace Cummings fights her growing attraction for her handsome captor, and when White Soldiers attack the village and rescue her, she must decide whether to stay with her own race or return to where her heart lies.
- Boot Camp
- Grade 8 Up—In this vivid and realistic novel, Strasser describes the horrifying violence and injustices experienced by teens sent to a disciplinary boot camp at the behest of their parents. Abducted by transporters in the middle of the night, 15-year-old Garrett finds himself handcuffed in the back of a car trying to make sense of why he is being sent to a facility for troubled teens.
- The Wedding
- Garwood's fortunes continue to blossom; her last novel, For the Roses (LJ 8/95), marked her tenth best seller. In her latest, a 12th-century Scottish maiden falls for the leader of the clan that abducted her.Copyright 1996 Reed Business Information, Inc. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
